Question Parking brake tappat needed

Hey everyone,

I've been searching on the forum and can't find what I'm needing so I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get a tappat for the parking brake on my 2000 SS? Somehow it has gone missing and the stealership won't sell me just that part, have to buy an entire kit for $200

Here's a picture of the diagram the shop gave me and the tappat is circled

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Yep. The mechanism is a pattented design from Australia and they only sell the complete kits in the US. http://www.pbr.com.au/technology/parkbrakes.shtml (I've even searched Australian web sites for parts but came up with nothing.)

If you want to avoid buying a re-build kit, your best bet is to go to a junk yard.

We have a non-sponsor supplier for the boot (part #8) but that's it.

That is the easy half to make, the hard part is the other end with the teeth on it , just taks the same part from the other wheel and go to a hardware store and get a bolt about the same diam ,round off the head and cut to the right leight,(which is what I did, not that hard to make ) or go ro a local machine shop
