N00bie question about bleeding brakes...
I've never disconnected my calipers on a car before, and I am planning on doing it shortly to paint my calipers and brackets. What do I need to do about bleeding the brake lines? They will come completely off the car. Can anybody give me a step by step process on how should go about this process....I've searched and can't find what i'm looking for.

pump the brake pedal 3 times and hold to the floor on the 3rd pump, open bleed skrew then close, start from the caliper farthest away from the master and work your way to the closest.

Make sure the car is level. Be sure to have plenty of brake fluid on hand, it's nice to purge all the old fluid out of the system, and have totally clean fluid in the lines.

would it be easier to paint them on the car? At first I didn't think it would, but I don't really need to flush the brake fluid considering it was done not too long ago. I'm just concered about getting paint all of the place...I guess I could tape everything up...

I painted mine on the car. Different color for the caliper and bracket. I used plastic Walmart bags, newspaper and tape to mask it all. Never had to worry about bleeding. All my pictures were lost on a computer crash! I am getting some of them back off of the old hard drive. I'll post them if I can get them back

yeah I've read up on some post, it just seems too much of a pain in the *** to bleed the brakes and worry about the brake fluid getting on your calipers after paint.
