Default swaybar removal questions...

I'm having a truck manifold front mount turbo kit welded up and I was told I would have a lot more room for routing the piping if I removed the sway bar.

I was wondering what affect it will have on my handling, and what concerns, if any, I should have with doing that. I heard it won't be able to handle hard corners quite as well, but I don't plan on road/road course racing it anyway. It'll basically just be a fun/weekend/show car, not a daily driver.

Thanks!

I personaly woudn't do it seems unsafe to me but I know alot of drag racers run without it that drive the streets also. If the cars not down I'd remove it and go test it, take a few corners at different levels if you still can. I'd hate to remove it weld up the turbos and for it to be unsafe at some crazy speed on the street, on the strip it's a diff story plenty of walls to bounce off of there.lol.

Yeah, that was my concern as well. It's mostly street, with occasional trips to the track. I want my ride as safe as possible...especially with 600+ HP. Hmm...I'll wait for more to chime in.

I wouldn't do it, but if you do, might want to at least add a strut brace...

i have my sway off and have for about 10K miles. As long as you dont drive like an idiot and dont try and go through any twisties at any kind of speed your good. My car still handles better than my friends fwd sunfire lol

I wouldn't do it unless the cars going to see a lot of 1/4 mile duty. Ive driven my buddies TA without the front bar on the street and would never do that to my car. I could take a corner faster in my lifted 4x4 truck.
