Compared to a street tire, definitely, but if your want the best traction-wise (or at least what has worked best for me personally) run the Mickey Thompson ET Street radials. If you drive your car a lot or drive it at all in the rain, stick with the Nittos. The Nittos have a higher treadwear rating and superior water channeling.
I need some advise what do i need for my car to hook on the street right? the suspension i have is lca's,pan hard bar, subframe connectors, and relocation brackets, i also have stock springs and shocks and my tires are the nittos extreme street tires 275/40/17 what do u think i need?

I used to flash my vig 3600 on the street w/ 315/35/17 555Rs... given I only had a tune, converter, built trans, 3.73s, offroad y, some ported 02 manifolds(don't laugh I was in highschool LOL) and the nittos... it would chirp the tires a little on the street and that was it. She ran a best of a 12.31 @ the track and some 12.4s all day everyday. but it wouldnt hook very good @ all on a 100 shot, when sprayed almost out of the gate.

I came across this thread by accident and started reading and cant believe that no one has mentioned this yet.Suspension,tires,driver,etc...all play a part. But with high horsepower cars that race on the street the real secret is BALLAST! Thats all i have to say.
