Default Help on KYB AGX Shocks

Hey guys I am having trouble putting the front struts on. We got the new springs on and all that. I cant get the bottom bar to twist where it mounts on the lower a arm. I have tried a vise to break it loose but no luck. What do I do now?

do you have spring compressors or did you have a shop swap them? I had to make strauss redo mine like 3 times before they finally got them right

we got them hooked up after forcing them. Now what is a good setting for street and strip on them? 1-8 are the adjustments.

No go on the brute force. You don't force those tabs down to meet the angle of the lower control arm! If you forced them that means you have them on wrong and probably with the adjustment tabs facing out.

On the box one is marked P and the other G.

Adjustment Tabs should face towards the engine and the lower tabs should not be moved at all.

I run them on 2. Started with 1 but it was unloading about 20 ft. out and blowing the tires off. You will have play around with them and see what works best for for you combo.

I don't know, I think it happens a lot. I would guess it might make some noise. But I am not sure.

The ***** should face the wheels.

That is incorrect. If you have to brute force the tabs, you are not doing it right. Each shock has a part number, P and G on the box.

I had a shop install mine because I did not want to mess with springs (scary stuff). They put them in with the adjustment ***** facing the tires. They have been like this for several years. So this is not correct?

n2ocamaro I just put mine on 2 weeks ago. I was gonna put the tabs facing out, but the lower perch or tab that sits in the lower A arm did not match the angle of the lower A arm. So I popped open the other box and sure enough the angle was matched with the adjustment tab facing inward.

I could not believe it when I discovered that the tabs would face inward, but it was the only way it would work without having to get a vice and move it. I do not remember what part number P or G belong to each side but the front struts had different part numbers from KYB. One KYB box said P the other G.

If you have been driving like this since the install and have had no problems, I would not worry about it guys. I would think it be a waste of time to do the work again.

in all honestly straight out of the box it makes more sense for the ***** to face the engine the way the bottom bar angle is

That's how I installed mine.. No problems at all. The ***** face the engine. Seemed to me that if they faced the wheel it'd be pretty hard to adjust them unless you took the wheel off, and I'm too lazy to keep taking off my wheel to adjust my shocks
