Default Sway bar problem

My dad and I installed my sway bars today, but something's not right with the rear bar. It sits right up against my differential and it's either sliding up the differential, or just rubbing when I hit bumps, as it left a 2" mark down the differential cover. The car looks like it sits higher in the rear too. I told my dad that something isn't right, but he thinks I'm imagining things. As I was driving it, the car started vibrating past 40 mph. It looked like the sway bar was under the diff., then was pushed out and up along the edge of the diff. cover. What did we do wrong? What would the effects be to continue driving it if something isn't right?

I installed it in the exact same way I took it off. I hope that's the only issue. Any idea on the ft lbs the things need to be torqued down to? Spohn sent me an instruction manual for lower control arms rather than the sway bars. Things were pretty cut and dry, till I **** the bed somewhere along the line

pics would help but the symptoms youre describing sound like its upside down or they sent you the wrong bar.

if it doesnt look like this then you have a problem.

Yes! But there is no space whatsoever in between the bar and the differential cover. They're scraping. There's a 2" scrape going up. Where did I go wrong? Is it upside down? What happens if I keep driving it like that?

In the picture the sway bar is upside down.

How in the world did you get your end links hooked up with it upside down?
Did you cut them or something? Got any pics?

I can't get any pics since I only have shitty camera phone pictures, but basically it went like this-

My dad helped me with it, but on the back bar, I guess he was too sweaty, wanted to get in the shower and get out of the sun, so he rushed me through everything. We have the same amount of mechanical knowledge (which is essentially none whatsoever), but he's a pretty smart guy in general, so I listened to what he wanted to do. we installed the bar exactly as we took it out, but apparently messed up somehow. I really hope we didn't mess anything up. I still don't know what the torque specs are on these things. He decided to tighten everything down till the top bushing was squished pretty well.

If you guys are smart, didn't you think the big bulged part was made to clear the other big bulged part? Just giving you a hard time, glad you got it fixed. Shouldn't be any problems with it.

Thanks guys. Took me a half hour to fix, so that was a relief. Everything fits perfectly now. The only problem is that the car is still vibrating hard. I think I have that figured out though. When my engine was down, my car sat on those tires for a year and a half. They were somewhat flattened when I got it running again, but they seem to have rounded out since I've been driving it. They've worn down more on the sides than in the center, but I think I switched the driver and passenger side tire yesterday when we were rushing to get things done. I'd imagine the irregular wearing and the fact that I swapped sides has led to some vibration above 45 MPH. Oh well. I'll have to ask my mechanic to drive it and see what he thinks. Seeing as how my car seems to develop a new issue every other week, even my father is telling me that I should sell my car and get something newer with fewer issues. I don't want to though. I need something that moves when I hit the gas, and I'm not trading in my car for another F body. Vettes are way out of my price range and it would be pretty pointless to sell it and buy a Mustang. I'm not sure what to do here. I can't drive another economy car. I'll never be able to do that crap again, granted my car doesn't move out too quickly now with it's slipping clutch.
