Default LCA Relocation needed to improve corner handling?

Hi,

I am trying to basically made my car as solid as possible. While, I am replacing my clutch next month, I will replace the UMI adj PHB, UMI adj LCA and BMR tube weld-in SFC. (already have STB installed). In the near future, Konis 4/4 and strano springs will be in as well.

My questions is, will LCA relocation bracket improve my corner carving handling? I am not planning to drag the car at the strip, maybe occasional light to light spirited runs just for thrills.

Thanks

Sid.

No, they will hurt your handling. They can cause over steer.

As far as making your car solid, shocks should be first on the list IMO, they will make a VERY noticeable difference and your STB and SFC's may/may not be even noticeable.

According to the Lowering Guide stickies (that most poeple don't read for some reason). You generally want the LCA's as parallel to the ground as possible. And if you are lowered, that angle may have changed. The brackets fix that problem:

These are not as important as some of the other parts, but are more valuable for the drag racer, or anyone thats looking to hook up from a stand still. These are intended to correct the lost suspension geometry of the lower control arm caused from lowering the car, and are available in bolt-in and weld-in styles.

As he said, the stickies are there for a reason. I just did a search to refresh my memory and that yielded a lot of information also.

EDIT: I should revise what I said in my last post slightly. You really want your LCA's to be parallel with the car to give yourself the best handling. Having the angle slope down towards the back can help with traction, but that angle can cause roll oversteer, which is not conducive to handling.

The aftermarket lca relocation brackets lower the back too much.

Brackets do not lower anything but the LCA rear position.

They will alter the traction applied in cornering, but lower
should be better (bite, not lift). Braking, though, goes the
opposite. So you may not want to go to the extreme
setting that works best for track launches. There's more
wanted than just bolting stuff up.
