Im guessing your looking for a dragshock for the street then? Because "best" shock for the street would include ride quality and handling(not just outright grip, but balance and how the car acts in certain situations) as factors. Konis would be hands down the "best" off the shelf non-custom valved shock. A non-gas charged drag shock like Afcos will leave handling on the table, and more than likley hurt ride quality as well. Personally I wouldn't be paying money for something like that to get a slighty (if that) better launch on the track but ruin every thing else.

If you don't hear much about Konis then you must not be in this section much hahah. If you're staying with stock springs Bilsteins or Konis will improve ride and handling greatly. Why do you want adjustable? Just asking because adjustable doesn't always mean better

lol, while I could see that helping that certainly isn't what the adjustments were really meant to use for... Kinda like saying that HPTuners is good for clearing engine codes. Yes it can work like that but that just a small fraction of what it can do.
The adjustments can generally change the balance of the car, the way it behaves, turn in and reaction times, and ride quality.
Dragshocks like Afcos, QA1s, Strange etc. are made to be either really "loose" for weight transfer or overly stiff to keep the rear from squatting on launch, and thats about it. They will leave the car overly jarring over bumps and at the same time bouncy, floaty and loose.
Search and you will see the popular choices are the sport shocks like bilstiens (non adjustable but high quality) KYB AGXs (adjustable but low quality and adjust both compression and rebound at the same time) and Koni SAs (high quality, lifetime warranty, can low the front of the car roughly 3/4" if used with the lower perch, and adjust rebound with compression remaining static).

well if it's traction you're after you might like the afcos/qa1's

if you want ride quality and handling, bilsteins and konis would be better choices
