umi tq arm bolt broke?

Default umi tq arm bolt broke?

i just picked up the umi tq arm from the ws6 store the other day. installed it and got all the bolts set up set the pion angile. out playing with the car to day and from like a second gear roll i hit it and bang and then i hear some thing zinng around come to find out the bolt the holds the upper tq to the rear end broke there is no way could have popped out it was to close to the tunnel for the bolt to slide out maybe i just got a bad bolt and what kind of bolt should i put back in?

Phone UMI, have them send you a proper replacement... Too new for bolts breaking...

Did you break both bolts, or happen to go back and pick the one up that came out to see where it broke at?

yeah I would phone umi or try a grade 8 bolt if you local ace hardware has the right size. I am sure umi can give you the correct thread pitch etc. if your wanting to get it done faster

I think the suspension hardware UMI supplies is 10.9, which is the metric equivalent of SAE grade 8.

Jerry just spoke with the customer. He is pretty sure the bolt worked its way loose and fell out. It is the grade 8 bolt that attaches the torque arm to the heavy steel mount that is then mounted to the rear end, the bolt is a 5/8" Grade 8 bolt. If it would break or shear there would be signs of it on the torque arm. We gave him the thread size and length and most hardware stores should have it, hope that helps.
