Default Koni/Strano Alignment Specs?

Hello all,

So I've got my Strano springs and my Koni shocks on my car, but when I went to get it aligned, the very ... Interesting character at the shop told me that he couldn't align my car because the spring/shocks were not stock, and therefore he couldn't use the stock settings to align it.

Any validity to this? And if so, does anyone know what the specs would be? I very much need the car aligned ASAP.

Thanks!

Go to another shop , talk to the tech , ask questions ,determan if he knows any thing about aligning any cars lowered/stock, I would shoot for something close to stock setting , some ppl like a little - camber
I am lowered about 2 " and still get close to stock,I run +0.50 camber both l/r side, caster+4.00 on left, +4.50 right, 1/16 toe in , + 0.007 rear thrust angle

^^^ What SS SLP2 said. There is a sticky showing alignment specs for street, auto x etc. I left mine at factory for street driving and good tire wear. My susp is the same as yours. The hardest part for the tech is getting the car on the rack with little wooden ramps to avoid scraping - just to be safe!

I'm running -0.75* camber, max positive caster on the street and I have no problem with uneven tire wear. If anything, the stock settings are going to cause uneven tire wear due to too much positive camber. BTW, im running Konis with ground control coilovers.

Stock settings will not work with a lowered car. If you bought them from Sam, call him. He passes that info on to his customers. Alot of shops will only align to factory specs. Just find a shop that knows what they are doing and don't have to follow the book.

You can get stock alignment settings with Strano springs and Koni shocks. A competent shop is what you need to find. Anyone who talks bad about or afraid of aftermarket equipment should be avoided.

Just ask Sam. He'll give you specs based on the type of driving you'll do (street, autoX, road race, etc.)

Any alignment shop should be able to do it. All they do is throw it on the machine and adjust until it hits the numbers you want.
I went with the "auto-x/street" setup from this site:
http://www.angelfire.com/my/fastcar/suspension.html
CAMBER (-1.0) ; CASTER (4.0) ; TOE (0.0)
This is a great alignment as far as I can tell. Generally from what I've read and understood you don't want toe in with these cars, it will cause more wear and make the car less stable.
