Default v6 suspension on my 2000 ss ....help

ok so ive been searching high and freaking low for something on this. ive read a few articles about the spring rate of the v6 front springs being less thus allowing better weight transfer.
im tracking on that and it sounds like a good mod for the amount of $$.

my question is what kind of drop is it going to give?? 1",2" how much..... i cant find any damn pictures of it.

not gona cut my springs either just to get a cheap drop and somewhat of a suspension upgrade cause thats just ghetto.

"Stock V6 springs for 93-97 years are 223 lbs/in for the front and 95 lbs/in for the rear. 98+ models are 257 lbs/in for the front and 114 lbs/in for the rear. Standard V8 springs are 292 lbs/in for the front and 114 lbs/in for the rear. "

so pretty much look for a 93-97 v6 and take the front springs and they shouldnt lower the nose of the car very much??or am i wrong whichi think i am

i should leave the rears alone since they're stiffer correct?

im just worried that if the front 93-97 springs may drop the nose to much and stink bug the car....having rake is one thing

I've seen a car with V6 front springs and it pretty much slammed it.. too low for me.. Go with a spring kit from someone that has advertised drop heights and repeatable results. .02..

man i wish someone would post pics.... cause i hear the same thing about sportlines.... i have a chance to get a set from a friend but dont know cause i dont want the car stupid low. but my car is ungodly high for some reason anyways.... so i dont know what the v6 springs would look like. cause i know with the eibachs ive seen mixed drop amounts from 1.5" to 2" drops.....

this is my car sitting on Eibach Pro Kit and before long im switching to something diff cause if i had pics I could show you but my back passenger side sits lower than the dack driver side cause of more weight being transfered to the back passenger side of the car and they have been on the car for 2+ years. they ride decent for what they are and what i gave for em but theres better springs out there though for a lil more money and better quality and sorry the pic is sideways lol...

Thanks for the pic of the eibach drop I've seen alot of them. But I do think it's to low. I do plan on tracking the car on a regular basis. So the car being so low in the rear wouldn't allow me to fit a very tall slick. I Want to see pics of v6 springs on a v8....

I don't think the V6 springs will lower the nose of the car all that much. Yes the rate is less, but it isn't like a lowering spring that is designed to have a lowered ride height.

On the flip side, I owned a V6 and have been on the V6 boards forever, and people over their would wonder if they went to V8 springs if the ride height would get even higher than stock. There really isn't any appreciable difference.

I see a lot of old school guys do this.. A guy at our local track puts geo metro springs on the front of this Gbody. When he hits the brakes out of the burnout the front end bounces up and down which would probably suck as a daily driver.

But it picks the tires up 4' and has a 1.33 60'.

I have also thought about swapping the front springs to the v6 spring, hoping it would help w/ the weight transfer. I run 28 radials on the rear so I dont want it to drop any out back.

You'll probably get better answers for this one in the drag racing section
