Default What would a dead shock sound like? Bad Noise under car

Everytime i hit a bump, or do a quick jerk in either direction on the steering wheel i hear a pop in the back. I cant figure out what it is, but it sounds to be coming from the passenger side rear. I know its coming from the rear, pretty certain its passenger side. The bump stops are there, never moved so thats not it and everything is tight underneathe. Any help would be great.

When one of my front shocks went bad on my 2000 TA, I would get a THUD sound whenever I hit little or big sharp bumps in the road. If it is coming from your rear, just unbolt the shock from the rear axle (one nut), and see if the piston has any pressure left if it by compressing it by hand. Probably take you 20 minutes at most to find out.
