Default Tie Rod Question

This is probably a stupid question but how do you change a tie rod on a 4th gen? i've never messed with rack and pinion before and I don't want to mess anything up.

Any help is appreciated!

I assume you mean the inner tie rod? I've done a pair before, not really much harder than "old school" but you need one of those special tools.

remove outer tie rod, remove boot, slip tool over inner rod, tighten jam nut, and apply ratchet.

There are plenty of good videos showing the process on youtube. You can sometimes get away with a big crescent wrench instead of the specialized tool.

I have never needed any special tools to do my inner/outer tie rod ends. all you should need is a cresent wrench and a pair of vise grips for the inner tie rods, they are on there with locktite so you will have to use some juice to break them free.
then the outers just take out the castle nut and cotter pin. Make sure to count the threads when you unthread them so they are the same when you put the news ones on

Parts make sure you have the new rack&pinion bellows to go with the new rod ends, and you should be set to go!

Cool, thanks guys!
And by bellows do you mean the boot on the rack and pinion?
