Between then and now I put the Ruff Racing wheels on the car and a Kooks ORY. Seeing that the car looked like a 4x4 I knew it was time for a change. So I ordered another set of Sam's springs!!! (Second time is a charm I guess) So I installed the springs today and here is the result.....

All in all I am very happy with them. The car actually rides better (not as harsh and a softer ride yet more responsive- versus the stock springs). Looks are obviously a dramatic improvement. So big thanks to Sam for offering an awesome product. Now I can't say I own a 4x4!!!! Haha

Thanks for looking
Andy

Andy,

Thank you for taking the time to do the write-up, take and post the pictures of the car before and after.

What I can say? It looks right, and I'm glad that you have an exhaust that fits well so that you can enjoy having lowering springs--again.

And how I can not like to hear you like find both the ride and handling to be improved!!!!!

Anyway, thank you for the time. As I stated in another thread, the good word of mouth of happy customers is what makes my business go, and I'm glad to know that you guys are out there enjoying your parts and parts combinations I've come up with!

the only thing holding me back from putting my Stranos on is because I wanted to do it all at once.. springs, shocks, panhard, lca's, tq arm so the ride wouldn't suffer etc.. but seeing yours makes me want to get get a spring compressor and get to work! .. Stance and car looks great man!

You don't need to do LCA's and TA when you do shocks/springs....some people don't even need a PHB when they first lower. If you want to save time, just get some springs and shocks....an adjustable PHB might be useful and isn't really that expensive.

Looks good OP. I want some Strano's and Bilsteins. Jesse- keep your eye out for an adjustable Panhard. I bought Vos' old chromoly adj. panhard from Jamie for $40. I'm just waiting to put in on when I lower it, lol.

I really like the stance! just dont want to bottoming out. Parking lots SUCK in my area.. The drop looks NICE! makes me want to do it and you say its not a stiff and harsh ride? the Koni 4/3 are the non-adjustable ones correct? Debating between the bilsteins and the Koni Shocks

Car rides smoother for sure. I could definitely tell the spring rates of the stock springs weren't as good of a match as the Strano springs.

The Koni 4/3's are adjustable. The "4" are the 4th generation fronts, they are 'on-car' adjustable. The "3" are the 3rd generation rears, you need to remove them to adjust them. I wanted to save a few bucks and that's' why I got the 3rd gen rears. I couldn't see spending the extra money for the other rears. To be honest, I set the shock settings to whatever Sam mentioned when I installed them a few years ago and they haven't been changed at all.

What brand and style are your wheels? I saw the size, but I totally love the black and silver. (as if you couldn't tell by my car pics)
I'm thinking about making a change over the winter and I really like your wheels. Obviously similar black and silver but I like yours better.
Let me know who makes them and what style or name they go by. Also, where did you get them.
Thanks.

Also, your car looks awesome and has a perfect stance.

They have been discontinued for 2 years now. There are none left in the country in this size/etc. They are made by Ruff Racing and are the R278 style.

Thanks

Well that sucks. Maybe they have 17's or something but it doesn't sound like it.

Maybe I can find a used set or something.

Thanks for the reply.

I think they are still in stock in some places. This link is for chrome, but they have black too.

Another difference between the two is the 3rd gen's have, I think its four settings, I think that's right. You only have those options. With the 4th gen you have the full soft to firm adjustment.

That's correct. 4/3 rears have 4 pre-sets. You have to pick one of those four... and there are BIG differences between each. If you think one is too stiff and one is a little soft for you liking, you have to pick what you like best. Where 4/4's have no detents on them and anywhere you set them is an "adjustment" meaning you aren't stuck in between wanting some other setting.

Sam,

On a quick side note I firmed the rears up 1/2 turn like you told me to and the car drives much better coming out of corners now.

Terrific! Glad to know, yet again, that adjustment isn't overrated.

He's running Strano Performance SP141 lowering springs, details can be seen here: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...=113&ModelID=7

It's his car, but I'm glad you like how it looks for obvious reasons. Tells me I did a good job when most everyone likes the result.
