Default Help with my pinion angle. UMI torque arm on s60. Pics :)

Hi all, I've been reading through all the posts on the pinion angle needing to be set to -2, but it still confuses the crap out of me. I thought it would help for me to post pics of where I'm at and what I got for angles.

Note that the rear is a strange s60 with a strange shortened driveshaft. I'd imagine that the pinion angle is all the same on a stock or aftermarket rear end/driveshaft setup.

All angles read from driver side looking toward passenger side.

Angle off of the tail of the torque arm. I'm reading it as about -1.5

Angle off of the driveshaft. I'm reading it as about -3.5

So I take those two numbers and add them together?
-3.5 + (-1.5) = -2
Is that right? If not, let me know where I went wrong.

Or would those numbers be -5? I think what is getting me is that there is 2 degrees of separation in the negative between -1.5 and -3.5 so I that is where I'm confused.

was everything a direct fit? even with the different yoke and shortened driveshaft? what kind of yoke is needed again?

sorry i can't help but if you use the search feature of google you should be able to bring some informative threads up. I remember reading a good thread on the pinion angle. The standard is usually -2 degrees like you've said. give it some time and you will hear some feeback on here shortly.

Yeah I hope that the umi or even bmr reps will see this and point me in the right direction.

As for the rear end it bolted in with little to no drama at all. I believe that the yoke size is the same as stock (1350). You have to get a shortened driveshaft with the s60 or have the stock one shortened a little less than two inches I believe. I got both a strange shortened driveshaft and s60 so all went in without issue. Had to cut the top of the torque arm bracket to fit on the s60 or it would rub against the tunnel. Pretty easy over all though.
