Default Got into an accident and need some advice. pics inside please help.

so i hit a jersey barrier on new years day driving home from a party... (i know... ) i hit the wall going about 40-50mph on the drivers side nose at an angle and when that happened the car must have whipped back and slammed the drivers side rear wheel against the bottom part of the barrier. the rear end of the car is like pushed over and sticks out a little bit on the other side, what could i have bent, is this fixable?

check to see if your panhard bar/lower control arms are bent. if so, you could just need a new adjustable panhard bar to realign the rear end of your car.

Looking at your second picture, you can see that the rear sway bar is still somewhat centered in the car, yet the rear axle is WAY off to the right. I would say at a minimum your panhard bar is bent up, and most likely the lower control arms too.... I'm surprised that the sway bar links didn't just get cocked at an angle, and leave the bar centered under the axle. Maybe there's more than meets the eye...

Check the panhard mounts too, I've seen those get bent from an axle hit like that.

Think of it this way... Learn from the mistake (at least you didn't total your car) and use it as an excuse to buy upgrades. I mean, if you need to buy a few parts, why not get better ones?

Too bad you weren't closer to Ohio, I have a brand new bumper and driver fender I need to get rid of.

I would be willing to bet it's just your panhard rod but I would also check the upper panhard rod support and the PHR mounting brackets on the frame. There are probably plenty of people on here that would give you their stock PHR or you can buy an aftermarket one. I doubt the control arms are damaged. The control arm bushings are plenty flexible and can easily allow the rear to be offset this much without damaging the control arms themselves....

a bent panhard bar(which then becomes a shorter panhard bar) will relocate/move the rearend assembly to the right.

Like everyone said your panhard's likely bent. i would also bet the body mount off the unibody is tweeked too.
It is all repairable. Any decent frame repair shop can fix the unibody/or k member if need be.

just the colour in different lighting im sure along with he probably bent the **** out of his zo6 rims and thus had to put on the stock z28 rims so he could move the car. Hopefully the rear quarter is fixable, definitely a time to upgrade, hope it works out.

I think the rear looks off center due to stock z28 wheels on the left and z06 wheels on the right. Anyways... if you had a stock panhard rod it should bend before the frame does.

Look at the rear axle, in picture #2, and compare it to the "drop" in the rear sway bar....the axle is NOT centered under the sway bar, or vice-versa. That has nothing to do with the wheels...something is bent!

z06 wheels shouldn't stick out that much. my guess is also on the panhard bar. my buddy drifted into a tree in his '08 GT and shifted the axle to the right 4-5" inches at least. panhard bar was twisted like a pretzel

lol, im right here... i removed the panhard bar and it is really bent up, what are the odds that a double adjustable would be able to recenter the rear?

A factory one will center it back up. Check the upper part of your pan hard rod system too. Also check the lower control arms and search for anything else that could be bent. If you could jack the car up and take some pics of the underside of the car we could help more.

With a hit like that, I wouldn't be suprised if the axle housing is bent too.

It's not fixable at all. Your only solution is to part the car out.

P.S. how much do you want for the catback?

But in all seriousness, it looks like it will need a new panhard bar, possibly one or two new LCAs, and possibly a repair to the axle housing and/or axle. Also check the transmission output shaft housing for leaks just in case. And, like Brett said, check the mounting points for the panhard rod and lower control arms.

Please keep us updated. I'm going through nearly the same problem. My rear end housing is bent on one side and it is skewed to the right (thrust angle).

I've been looking for a decent used rear end locally for a few weeks now. I plan on buying adjustable LCA's at least and maybe an adjustable panhard bar once i get the replacement rear.
