Default strut mounts??

Strut Mount Gabriel Price: $ 17.71 Qty: 1.00 Part #: GAB142409
Strut Mount Gabriel Price: $ 17.71 Qty: 1.00 Part #: GAB142408
and two isolators Gabriel Price: $ 7.85 Qty: 2.00 Part #: GAB142412.
$51 solution from autopartswarehouse.

Now I may be confused. but the driver and the passenger side look different.

and the picture does this no justice does this come with the rubber that your spring sits into..

can someone clarify what this is? and would the isolators work for both mounts becuase they look different to me..

Gabriel mounts are junk -- I had many fail -- don't buy them. OEM seems to be the consensus.

The isolators are separate. As far as the mounts go, look for ones that don't use inserts as they tend to come loose and start to spin. It has been years since I did this job, but OEM and NAPA mounts were basically identical. NAPA may have changed or they might sell a different part over the counter than they do to shops.

Moog and the others use inserts, be prepared to use a nut and bolt. Hell, they are all probably Chinese garbage by now.

The strut mounts are different because the left and right side sit at a different angles. I wondered the same thing when I bought mine. I bought Moog, but haven't installed them yet. The isolators are the same.

Seems to be a theme tonight... For the record the cars don't use struts, they are shocks.... Which means you are looking for shock mounts (and yes, there is a difference, strut mounts have a bearing in them to allow the strut to turn.... we don't have that bearing as there is no requirement for the mount to turn).

And do yourself a favor... by GM mounts.

In my experience the Moogs were good too. That's what I put on my Camaro and they were a perfect fit (and used normal bolts instead of the dumb torx that the original OEM one did on the driver side).

And while Sam is correct (of course) that they are technically shock mounts, if you ask for those at the parts store half the time they'll look at you funny or try to find rear mounts for you or something. The parts stores call them "strut mounts."

Another alternative to replacing the torx bolts is to swap them to the passengers side to avoid loosening up the MC.
