here's mine - 1 coil cut in the front and hose mod in the back. The previous owner did the cutting and I did hose mod to level it out
I f'king hate it. We have a 30yr old panel van/shop truck here where I work with a plastic egg crate for a seat and it rides better than my car. I cant count the number of times I've bitten my tongue going over the smallest imperfection in the road or even cobble stone cross walks

Get some good shocks and your ride shouldn't be bad at all. The problem people run into is they cut too much, like 2 coils, and then they constantly hit the bumpstops. My car with 1 coil cut and Bilsteins rides better than stock, actually scrapes the air dam and bottoms out LESS than stock because the Bilsteins are so much better at controlling the car's movement over bumps.
What I love is how people think the car will ride great with stiff aftermarket lowering springs, and then ride like **** with cut stock springs. Lowering springs with high spring rates are WAY stiffer than stock, whereas cutting your springs won't significantly increase the spring rate.
The problem is more likely your shocks or your tires than the springs.

I just did mine. Measuring the actual coil, I cut off 20" of it (rear coil) With the hose mod and running 315/35/17's on an S60 rear, my rear fender height is right at 27"(measuring from the ground, across the center cap to the lip of the fender AND assuming it does not settle anymore). I have QA1's set at 26" in the front. I do not have a picture yet, but can get one very soon.
When I cut off 12" of the coil at first, my rear sat at 28", I then cut off another 8" of coil and it set it at 27".
I took smaller steps to get where I wanted to be.

Here are some pics of my old '99 with cut springs. I bought them many years ago from a guy out of the Charlotte, NC area already cut. I believe they were trimmed 1.5 coils on the front and 1.25 on the back. I thought it rode as well as any other lowered F-Body that I rode in. I agree with others that a quality shock is key to a tolerable ride.
I'll be posting many build photo's here on LS1Tech over the next month or so as I install a pretty long list of long over due mod's to the car, one of them will be cut factory springs. I have a spare set that I'm going to experiment with, if I don't like the look, I'll just cut up another set to my liking.
I know I received a ton of compliments with the stance on the '99, it was Ride of the Month here on LS1Tech back in 2005 or so .
