Default CTS-V Brake Upgrade Installed. (PICS)

I know I should have formalized this thread a bit more (better pictures, etc) but what the hell, ya'll will get the point.

I bought the 4 piston CTS-V brembos and powder coated them (Thanks Sean at the powderpro!) to paint match the color of my car (MBM). Ended being a perfect contrast between my black/blue theme (dark tine, black sail panel, blacked headlights, black wheels, etc.)

Sorry for the poor cell phone photos. Also I just washed the car so sorry for the rust on the new rotors.

And here is a picture of what the car looked like before the install:

And now to the performance portion of the brakes...

The nice thing is that these brakes feel the same as stock when driving normally. I can't really tell a difference when city driving, which to me, is nice.

However, when braking hard at highway speeds, or when getting on it, etc, they grab WAY harder than stock. So its kind of the best of both. Total tame street driving yet when you really push the pedal down it can turn the ABS on in dry weather if you try hard enough.

To sum up this short "review" they were well worth it! I also had the correct +40mm offset 18x9.5 wheels so I did NOT need any front spacers. I just happened to have the correct offset, size, and style wheel.

They are a reproduction wheel, but not ones made by OE Wheels. These were just a little bit more quality, imo, and the company had the correct offsets I needed. (No hate towards OE Wheels, though! I've boughten their wheels before with no complaints.)

Did you instal a manual bias valve? I bet the fronts are way more powerful now, you could stop even faster by adding rear bias.

If your skidding on dry roads I would look into it...

Well I just installed mine and I have not heard of this, so I won't be able to answer you there...

I did not. Considering there is a rear brake bias stock, this actually evened it out way better. There "seems" to be more bias towards the front now but it's in a goo way (performance-wise.) The ABS only slightly comes on when slamming the hell out of the brakes, which is telling me the tires are now the weak point of friction. The car doesn't skid anywhere and has good control.

This is just based on what I have experienced driving my own car, thus far.

That would be a bad idea, it could make the car more unstable during braking.

Uneven wear between front and rear? You'll see that anyway. The fronts do most of the braking.

Yeah I wasn't sure if this is what he originally meant. But yeah, like you said, this happens anyways.

Thanks again! I was unsure how it would look, but then I thought it would really pop with the black wheels and how the front and rear rotors are painted black so they look like they are floating.

Depends on the front offset. You'll need +41mm or less. If you go with the usual +56mm offset, you'll need a spacer.
