It looks like you didn't compress the spring enough. It also looks like the washer is missing.

i will try to compress the spring more and about the washer it is missing. let me see what i can do.

i decided to just throw them out. everything is installed. belstein shocks and struts and also installed umi subframe connectors. only i have now. the front still makes some clunkin sound. also can the upper ball join be replaced?

I had that boot rattling too. The top nut is not down enough. Compress the spring and get that top nut down the threads!

You need to compress the spring so you can tighten down the top nut.

i see so i have to compress the spring and tighten the nut down the threads. i will do it this weekend and see what changes. thx guys.

I think you should be able to see about half an inch of theads when you tighten down the nut. If you see less than that above the nut then it's not down far enough.
