I am doing an LT1 to LS1 swap and I realize the racks steering shaft angles are different but should the rack be straight or on an angle the rack mounting tabs on the driver side are shorter than the passenger side making the rack crooked is this right?

You should contact UMI for help man. Those pieces are CNC cut and it's assembled on a jig. Are the LT1 and LS1 racks identical?

No, he's talking about the mounting points on the k-member for the rack I believe. I'm running the UMI K member with a Burkhart manual rack and it got moved quite a bit to the front from the original position. No big deal really, only see this issue for turbo guys with pipes in the way.
