Default Rear sway bar

Ok so im pulling my front sway bar and im about to get a new rear sway bar. I have a question though what size would be more beneficial with what i want it to do? Its a street car that sees the track good bit and its by no means a corner carver. A little help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Strano rear bar might be a good bet. Its bigger(22) to help with sway on a semi drag track/street car and weighs about 5 pounds less than the stock bar since its hollow. Great help in reducing unsprung weight. I am not sure how handling will be though without a front swaybar

If you have a street/strip application we offer a tubular chromemoly anti-roll bar kit that is available as a complete bolt-in unit and includes adjustable end links to help set chassis preload. It is a proven working component and is the lightest on the market.

You are almost at the point were you could use a regular sway bar of larger diameter or a drag bar. What track times are you running and how often will the car visit the track?

Our rear drag bar is streatable, it just doesn't work well at high speed turns and with no front sway bar you aren't going to be doing that anyhow. Below is our drag bar, it is 100% bolt in but welding is required for a lot of track use. Please take a look and let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Im not going with a corner carver its more of a street/strip car. At this point im willing to sacrifice a little handling for straight line performance.

I would say ideally whats the smallest bar you can put on to keep the car leaving straight. You probably don't get chances to try different bars though... so I would probably go for a 25 mm rear minimum if I were building a street/drag car.

You're going to be sacrificing more than a "little" handling with no front bar, and an oversized rear bar... You may not mind it putting around at 35mph in the city, but you will notice it on the highway, and trying to turn at the speed limit on higher speed turns.

This is on our Fabricated nine inch housing BUT the same one works for a stock 10-bolt.

It is $425 shipped For weld in tabs and $450 for full bolt in version.

But you are right it will hurt drivability and i understand that But i plan on pulling the ps and ac eventually so im not too worried about it.

If you go with the drag bar what I recommend for the street is to use the front sway bar with it, this will help some. I street drive my car with the rear drag bar but I reinstalled my front sway bar for street use. The rear drag is street friendly, around turns at higher speeds it will tend to want to kick loose much easier.

We also incorporate adjustment into the rear drag bar so you can soften it slightly. Below is a picture of the adjustment on the sway bar itself.

I'm in the exact same situation as you, but I don't go to the track nearly as often as you. I'm not running a front sway either and have the rear stocker. I was going back and forth, but I think I am going to take Ryan's suggestion and get a rear drag bar and front sway for the street. I'll just take the front off when I go to the track.

i have the Spohn rear Drag sway bar and the handling now "sucks"

the Spohn bar is 1 and 5/16 , a 16th of a inch bigger then the 1.25 UMI bar, Pretty much the same tho.

with these over sized bars the rear suspension works like a swing arm no left to right movement , not good for a street car IMOP.

i am taking the beast off and replacing it with either a 22mm or 1" hollow rear sway bar this should give me back some of the ride i lost

Use a 98 and up V6 front sway bar for the street-lighter and handling better than no front sway bar

You are kind of in a spot where you could go two directions, you could go with a good anti-roll bar like our full bolt-in anti-roll bar if you are will ing to sacrifice more driveability or you could with a more stiff stock-style aftermarket sway bar like our 25mm rear bar if you weren't willing to sacrifice as much driveability. If you have anything else I could help you with let me know.
