Another lowering thread, 3 springs to choose from.
I have and LT1 car and am in the middle of swapping in some LS1 brakes and Koni SA shocks. Now i have to decide what front coil springs to put on those nice used Konis. I have 3 pairs sitting in my garage:
LS1 Eibach prokit, (400), 1.3" drop
LS1 Hotchkis, (285-525), 1" drop
LT1 stock rusty springs, (310), 0.75" drop with Konis on lower perch
My #1 priority is good street handling but i want the car to retain some comfort/softness for the ancient country roads i live on . My original plan was to mount the stock springs on the lower perch in front and do the heater hose mod in back for a .75" drop all around. Now i see that my stock spring are about 40% covered in rust and i'm afraid they could give me trouble in the future.
So plan B was to use my Hotchkis springs but i've heard progressive springs are hard to match with the shocks. The Eibachs are linear and conveniently mounted on the used konis already, but some say they drop 1.5-2" which would be too much for me.
So what would you all recommend? Re-use my rusty stockers or use the Eibach or Hotchkis?
