I've got a question about the ride height of my stock suspension 01 ws6. It seems that the gap between my tires and fender is more than other ls1 cars that are stock that I have seen. I just put energy suspension swaybar bushings and end links on my ta this weekend and i became curious enough to measure the gap between the top of my tires and the edge of the fendes. in the front its 4" and in the rear its 3 7/8 so just a hair under 4". i was at my friends house last night and we measured his on his 02 z28 with 17" wheels, same size tires, bmr swaybars front and rear, and boxed lca's and in the back the gap is virtually identical but in the front his is a little more than an inch smaller (was right about 3"). Just wondering why there is that much of a difference. I just hate how big the gaps are in the front wheels. Just wondering if anyone else has seen a dramatic difference between 2 stock suspension cars?

I am interested to know stock LS1 height.
My 1999 Camaro z28 has 27" front and 26.75" rear height from ground level to fender measured at center of the wheels. This is with 225/55/16 front and rear. I bought it like this.
I want to know if it's stock or lowered?

Every car is different. My M6 car sits higher than my A4 car. After doing the heater hose mod on the A4 car, I had to go with front Koni's on the lower perch to get the ride height to match. Otherwise, the front was proportionately higher than the rear.
Not so on the M6 car. After the HH mod, I kept the front shocks/springs at the stock height to match.

Not as skinny as you may think. They look wide enough. Now anybody think this is stock height or lowered.

Geez 55 huh. I would say that is lowered. My 02 SS is 27.5 in the front and 26.5 in the rear with an eibach prokit and kyb shocks in the front (annoying the rear is lower). But if it's 27" from the ground I would say it's lowered. The car stock rides pretty high.

How can I raise it a little more without replacing the coil springs?

Then my car is stock at 27/26.75. I hate to replace the springs with stock ones if I already have the stock springs.

Generally, guys keep the stockers and replace the shocks for the beat RIDE/handling compromise. The stock springs, unless they're broken, sagging excessively (rare) are fine to keep - unless you WANT the car lower. That being said, you can upgrade to Konis and run the fronts on the lower perch with the stock springs and do the hose mod in the rear for modest lowering. Figure that this drop = .75 inch front. For the price and condition of the stock springs (generally speaking, of course) I wouldn't replace stock springs for the same stuff. If they're clapped out, buy aftermarket ones (good ones!) of course, IMHO
