Default How long should aftermarket springs and shocks last?

I was planning on upgrading my springs and shocks for my ws6, possibly to stranos and konis. My main concern is the fact that my car will not be seeing the road very much after this year as I will be away for college the next six years... that means only around 2-3 months of ride time every year. Will aftermarket springs and shocks start to wear if the car just sits in the garage most of the year (for six years)?

depends on the brand

part store shocks and Eibach Prokit and you'll be sitting on the bumpstops within a year or two

Konis and Stranos will probably outlive the car

agreed with VinR1. you get what you pay for either koni or Bilsteins and Strano springs is what I would recommend

cool thanks guys! I was just trying to make sure I didn't waste money on shocks that would wear out before I was able to enjoy them..

also, just be aware, with many shocks lowering springs can drastically reduce their life expectancy. Its part of the reason I went to Konis.

Seems to be the case where if the springs are too much for the shocks to handle, then the shocks damping wears out a lot quicker.
