Default So many rear LCA's - don't know which ones to get

I've been looking at UMI LCA's for the rear and I'm just not sure what's best for my '95 Z.

The suspension is bone stock and quite frankly the ride is horrible, so I'm about to start upgrading it. I'm gonna start with an UMI on-car adj. panhard bar, a solid 22mm rear sway bar and some LCA's. The car is a daily driver during the summer (not driven hard) and it sees the 1/4 track maybe 3-4 times a year. I'm also planning on lowering the car later this year with Stranos and Bilsteins.

The 10 different LCA's on UMI's site are giving me a headache. I'm new to all this suspension stuff. I know I don't want noisy ones.

We do have a lot of options

It does make it tough though, I know.

Based on your driving and how the vehicle will be used I recommend the basic non-adj. style with polyurethane bushings, part # 2015.

If you have any questions I can help with please ask. Thanks!

Adjustable ones, and you can work on the different kind of bushings. The adjustability will leave room to subsequently rip it up, and the bushings will offer options as far as level of stability.

Do the relocation brackets also. Works wonders even on stock height cars.

If your ride is horrible, why are you starting with LCA's (unless the bushings are shot)? Rubber bushings will give you the best ride (and you can replace the bushings with the 1LE type for less deflection than stock). Otherwise, UMI makes great stuff, but poly bushings can cause rear suspension bind which could make the ride worse under certain conditions, but they're probably the quietest (besides rubber) that you can get. Also, why upgrade JUST the rear bar?

FYI, shocks will give you the best improvement in ride.

Agree'd. Shocks make a very significant difference in ride quality of any car. I would suggest a set of Bilsteins personally.

Also, having a larger sized bar in the rear will increase oversteer. For a budget upgrade, look for a 1LE front swaybar. The 32mm is a great balance.

Yeah about the shocks, I mentioned in my post that I'm going with Stranos and Bilsteins later this year, this summer probably. I just can't afford springs and shocks right now. Also, pretty much every bushing in the rear is shot. The huge Toyo 315's I just put on made me realize I have to center the rear, and I wanted to do the LCA's while I'm at it.

I'll finish the rest of the suspension when I order the springs and shocks.

If your ride is horrible than shocks should be first on your list! But if your going to replace the control arms than I'd suggest get adjustable..I wish I did.

Go with the bmr ones, call them, they have adjustable with rubber on both sides. I believe its the best for a dd, or a car that sees the street more then the strip. Wont wear out like rod ends, wont be noisy, and will still allow the rear to articulate unlike poly.

I just put on non adj tubular lca and an on car adj phb on my car two weeks ago and the car feels so much better. The ride is much smoother, cornering feels way better, and bumps on the road are a lot less noticeable.
