Default Are they to soft

I have a 98 Z28 A4 10 bolt with 4:10s 100 shot and with 274,000 miles on it and I am wondering if my rear springs are too soft. At the track I run a 26in Mt DR and was lauching it at 1500 RPM and the rear fender was covering half way down the wheel but it was not axle hopping and lauching straight. Fastest pass was a 12.43 at about 113 and this was my first time down a track in a car I owned for about a month. Hope pic helps I might can get another one if needed? Thanks

Probably not, unless you want to purely pimp on the street.

So it would not help me go any faster at the track bye going to a stiffer spring in the rear?

if your main focus is drag racing, you don't want stiff springs....you want the car to be able to "squat" more to help with traction, which it sounds is working pretty well as-is.

now, if you were into auto-x or road racing, then you would probably want springs that are stiffer than stock, and preferably a little shorter as well so that your center of gravity is lower.

Thanks for the insight, I was just woundering if it was squating to much but I guess not. Its kinda of a street and strip it rides good on the road and performed great at the track for the amount I got in it. About $3000!

I don't know of a lot of spring options within your budget, unless you want to go with a coil-over set, which would allow you to adjust the ride-height for track or street.

Go to the drag racing section they will help you out. And here is a quote from Madman "Girls Squat RACE CARS DONT!!!!!". If you drag race you do not want your car to squat because you are loosing energy.

Hey plowboy..... try just changing shocks!, You can run a soft spring & a good shock will take care of the wheel hop!....been there!

You don't need new springs, you need adjustable shocks on the rear. That would eliminate the squat that you see during your launch. We normally run the AFCO double adjustable shocks on all four corners. Give me a call if you're interested and would like more info. 225-673-3533

Thanks,
Steve
