Default Downside of lowering and time it takes...

I have a friend who bought a lowered ss..He doesnt like it and wants to trad springs.

I know the rear won't take long, but how long would it take to pull the front off the front, were just gonna swap springs and struts so it won't take that as long.

Also what are the downsides to running lowering springs...beside the ride.

Depending if you have air tools or not it should take 2-4 hours depending on how familiar you are with the cars.

It's not so much the springs that can effect as it is the dampeners. Better struts/shocks control the springs better and improve the ride.

You can put better/good dampers on stock springs and it will improve the ride.

I wouldn't do it unless they are bmr or strano springs.

The rear end's LCA will need to have the axle mounting points moved with relocation brackets unless you want EPIC wheel hop.

Strano is all I plan on buying for my car. Helping him win SCCA championships is hard to argue with.

We swapped them out.

Rides pretty good, I can't tell if I have wheel hop cause all it does is blow the back tires off. Iwill need to re-adjust when I get some drag radials

I just lowered the frond of my car about 1&1/2 inches and it has anoyed me so far lol. Scraping everywhere and hitting my headers on everything pisses me off. I went off the side of the road going down the high way on a narrow road and right off the white line the road goes down to dirt about 4 inches and i hit my headers hard and it pissed me off. I really like how it looks, but not so fond of scrapping/hitting the headers everywhere. If you don't have lt's I think they would be alot more fun. Plus I had my shocks set real loose for drag racing wich made the ride feel a little bit loose.

I worry about hitting my true duals, subframe connectors, ect. That rarely happens though, I don't think I've ever hit my long tubes. Eibach Prokit

This isn't the eibach kit I believe.

These came off a car wit longtubes and the guy didn't have that much problem with scraping, Im actually putting longtubes on soon...we'll see how it goes.
