Default Lowered Guys Please Step In.....

This weekend I was trying to get an idea of what my ride height will be and ran into some issues. I'm installing an 8.8 with Moser LCA & Shock brackets and with the car almost at ride height my shocks are too long and will not go into the shock mount, my diff almost hits the gas tank, and it looks like I need some 8" long springs to even come close to fitting.

Can someone please measure from the center of the wheel to the wheel arch or from the axle to the body of the car (inside from the bumpstop) and also add how much drop you have with your setup.

Thanks in advance

try the sticky above, theres a section in there "ride height after springs" with some measurements... whats the 8.8 out of? shocks may need to be compressed, and yes even lowering springs are almost a foot tall, and bumpstops will keep you from hitting yr tank too. room also can differ with the wheels used

8.8 is out of a mustang, all of the brackets are cut off and Moser brackets are installed. Bumpstops are gone and the shocks are too long, if I compress them they still won't go into the mounting hole and the axle needs to come up at least another inch.

I'm using 11" ZR1s with a 315/35/17 and want a low ride height

BTW the reason I'm looking for the wheel well to the center of the wheel is my car is on the lift and I don't have any of my tires yet.

I don't know whats going on, but something seems wrong with my setup. But I just don't see how thats possible

Shocks are Edelbrock IAS and the springs are Firestone 9000 air bags. I raised the upper bag mount ~3/4" and the lower mount is ~1/2" lower than the stock mounts. Getting pics is kind of hard, the car is in the shop 30 miles from my house and I have been working 10 hour days.

My drop is probably about 2" right now, my wheel well apex to the ground measurement is 26.25"(w/275/40/18s), with stock height rear tires (274/40/17s) it would be about 25.75".

Good luck!
