Default rack and pinion

hey my car doesnt have the firm ride handling (f4i) code...of course this rack and pinion is more expensive than the firm ride handling one...go figure. anyways...my question is, will the firm ride handling fit and work just fine or do I really need to have the non firm ride handling? (98 trans am)
Ill eventually put LT's on and its going back to stock ride height.
