Default weird noises from rear brakes

when i am slowing down and press the brake i can hear the brakes "clinching" down on the rotor and then when i release the brake i can hear them release.. sounds metal on metal to me, some thing must not be lubed or greased well enough. interesting enough the car started doing this when i was very dirty, so i washed it and sprayed the calipers down very well and it went away for a day or so..

what could this be

Try hitting them with some brake parts cleaner. If that helps, well then your problem was brake dust. High psi water won't get that stuff off. If not, look at your pads, and maybe try adjusting your integral parking brake shoes. There's not much left after that, except maybe a sticking caliper. Good luck.
