I bought a pair of KYB AGX struts, I was just messing with them, when I push them against the floor the go in rather easily, and take some time to come back up. Now my old DeCarbon where very hard to push in. Just seeing if this is normal. I tried it on all settings, they are new.

Comparing apples and oranges. deCarbon's are high pressure gas, so they harder to push in and that gas forces them out faster too. But that's not the valving. The AGX's are low pressure gas so the opposite will be true.

The push/pull test can sometimes tell you if a shock is completely shot but it's the equivalent of timing by ear - it's just not accurate.
Lots of cool stuff happens inside the more sophisticated dampers and a human can rarely duplicate that velocity.
In other words, you may be pleasantly surprised when you try them on the car.
