Default Soft brakes after eBay Slotted/ Drilled Rotors & Pads

So I just recently installed some of those eBay slotted and drilled rotors that were like $190 shipped or something with some new pads. I put them on, lubed everything up right and they're really quite but I still have a soft pedal when braking. I bled all the brakes after I did it in the correct order and filled up the MC to just below the max level. I've only driven about 150 miles with them on so I haven't been beating them or anything but should I just put more brake fluid in till the pedal is alittle tighter? Should I go past the line on the MC?

Overfilling the reservoir won't firm up the pedal. If you bled the brakes and there is no air in the lines, you might have a booster that's going bad.....maybe.

If the booster were going bad the pedal would be rock hard due to the lack of vacuum assist. Id try bleeding them again

The thickness of your new rotors could be less than your stockers( guessing thats what you had before) causing your caliper pistons to have to travel further to slow the wheels. This would case a low(or soft) pedal.

I would check for air in the lines.

It's probably a poor bleeding job. I had my gf pumping the brakes while I bled and she got over it real fast.

With all due respect rotor thickness has no affect on pedal feel if the rotors were thinner it would cause the caliper pistons to move out further but that's a difference that only has to be made up for once. Bleed the brakes with someone who knows that your life may depend on them doing a good job lol

^^ I beg to differ suhh. A combination of too thin of pads with thin rotors may very well cause the piston to travel past it's stroke. Never keeping its spot of where the new thickness is. I know I have only 10 replays or so but I see this everyday as it is in fact what I do for a living.

Make sure your bleeder screws are tightened all the way, sometimes if theyre just a hair loose the pedal will get softer the longer you hold on it

Bleed them again.....Air is gonna be the #1 reason for a soft pedal.

Yes it was a crappy bleeding job by myself. All is well for me and my eBay brakes now.
