Question Want to upgrade Disc brake rotors on a 2002 TA

Want to upgrade Disc brake rotors on a 2002 TA
looking at keeping the same size that i have (OE) just want to go drilled and slotted.
i was looking at the Baer rotors but damn $200.00 plus each.
How do the summit brand rotors compare?

FYI drilled/slotted is not an upgrade(especially the cheap ones that are more prone to cracking), do a search.
If you are looking for performance get some quality blank rotors and more aggressive pads like Hawks HPS (pads are what really makes the difference).

^^^ agree !
drilled & slotted = bling
good rotors & aftermarket performance pads = good stopping power

Hawk HPS Pads make a great difference in stopping power. and if you wanted a quality set of drilled/Slotted Rotors, I have the Baers in stock, and they are closer to a bit above $200 a pair, not $200 each. But the pads would be the first upgrade of choice

I always suggest PowerSlot rotors with StopTech pads. Great quality performance combo I wouldn't hesitate to take around a road course...because I do.

I also suggest DBA slotted rotors. Hawk makes great stuff, but I have found the StopTech pads to be better in every way for me.

I have drilled/slotted with HAwke HPS pads and I could not be happier.

They are 10x better than my stock rotors. Anything is better than stock one you've exhausted that particular part.

In all actuality, one or the other (drilled or slotted) renders the same amount of functionality as a combo; that's what those gentlemen mean when they say drilled/slotted are for show.

All of the above are more prone to cracking than a blank rotor, and the cheaper you go generally the more prone to cracking they are.
Again if you want performance get a quality blank rotor with good pads.

Also, never use your brakes more than once from say 140-0. That's a sure fire way to crack them.

Cheaply made drilled and or slotted rotors are more prone to cracking. That's pretty much most of the ones out there available. Even the expensive Brembos crack. That being said, tons of people use them for daily driving. If you go with them just keep your eye on them over time.

If you actually want to stop better, then you're looking at just simple brake maintenance and better pads with new rotors.
