Stock brakes on a strange 12 bolt
wasnt sure where to post it, but i figured brakes would work. My question is that i have a strange 12 bolt that was in an lt1 car and i am putting it in my ls1 car. I pressed the old bearings off the diff removed the lt1 caliper brackets and installed my backing plates from the ls1 car. My question is should i have had a groove machined into the backing plate? will the brakes sit right? anyone ever do this?

On the info I got from Strange the diagram shows a .155" thick spacer between the housing end and the LS1 backing plate. Since the rear was originally built for an LT1 I don't know if the configuration is different. The Strange p/n of the spacer is B1105D (you need 1 for each side).
