I think my stock ones/bushing is shot. could that cause a pretty intense clunking sound from the rear of the car going over dips and bumps? i checked everything that i could think of that could clunk and adjusted everything but it still remains, this is my last hope before i go insane lol. also when jack the car up it sounds like there is a pretty intense squeak coming from them as the tire comes down

You can't just check if the top shock mounts are "tight." Lift the rear of the car and place it on jack stands. Support the pumpkin with a jack and unbolt the upper shock mounts. Lower the rear end carefully and make sure the rubber isolator bushings on both sides (top and bottom) of the upper shock mounts are still good. They don't need to be very tight when you put them back in, as too much torque will flatten the rubber and could even cause binding. You need just enough so the rubber just begins to compress.

The rubber bushing upgrade is definitely still available and it can be done to either our adjustable or non-adjustable rear lower control arms. Give us a call here at the shop and we can get you taken care of.

You can buy the bushings by themselves but they will only fit in out BMR LCAs.

BMR, glad you guys are doing this. I actually just went to your site to look for a set of LCAs and PHR with rubber bushings before I saw this thread. I drove my car for the first time in months today and it was making all sorts of noises from the rear. Those bushings are now 15 years old so I think it's time. Once we sell our house, I'll be giving you guys a call.

We won't be adding replacement parts to our site anytime soon. Then Summit, Jegs, and other distributors will start selling them, and we don't want them selling replacement parts. Summit already does sell some they've picked up on over the years, and they will often sell the wrong parts to a customer because of the small differences or design changes over the years.
