Default Squeak / Creak over bumps and rear brake howl

OK, I've searched and searched.

My 2002 Camaro SS LE with stock suspension makes a terrible squeak/creak, groaning noise over bumps, going slow or at speed. You can hear the noise outside the car, its kind of embarrassing.

The car does have bolt in sfc and a stb.

What should I check? Do I have to take the wheels off to check any of the bushings

And, I have a weird brake howl coming from the rear. I'm pretty sure its the brake because it only happens at very low speeds, after the brakes have been applied to bring the car to a slow stop. For instance, I can pull into my driveway, apply the brakes very lightly to stop the car slowly, and right before it comes to a complete stop it will howl for just a second. If I come to a regular stop, like in traffic there is no noise.

temp - low 80's. the longer you drive it the more noisey it gets, even on hot days

Parking brake dragging? Warped rotor? Stuck/poorly lubed caliper pin?

As for the squeak/creak -- I have a similar sound I am still trying to track down on my SS, even after replacing shocks, sways w/bushings...

The creak is most likely the lower control arm bushings creaking against the sfc's. You could spray some grease in between them or try new bushings. Moog is supposed to make nice replacements.

Mine was the end links. If the end links look trashed, it might be them. Spray some lube on one set of bushings at a time and see if it goes away.

Lightbulb

Perhaps for the OP, but not in my case -- had the issue prior to and after SFC welding!

Thanks guys, I'll check that stuff.

I'm thinking of upgrading to some brake motive slotted rotors and pads, can't beat there deal for a whole set.

Forget the slots, get blanks for longevity.

I had a squeak & creak in the rear of my car a few years ago and like to never found it , It was the upper shock bushings letting the shock threaded shaft rub the body mount . It only made noises when I hit dips or bumps in the road .
