Lower Steering shaft bearing
2001 Camaro SS
I removed the retaining ring from the steering column where it comes out of the firewall and the plastic ring which had a rubber ring on each side of it. Looking at the assembly charts from GM, it looks like there is supposed to be a bearing there as well but I did not find one... I did buy a new bearing, plastic ring, and retainer but the new plastic ring does not match the old one and the bearing does not mate with the new or old plastic ring. The bearing does fit the steering column but the new plastic ring does not. Can anyone tell me what the H is supposed to be inside the column right there? Thanks
