When do you know when your stearing rack os no good?

When do you know when your stearing rack os no good? My car shitf to the side vilently at some times when i go over a bump or umeven roads. could this be the problem??

What car is this? If you have 245 + sized tires, some roads are uneven and it will respond to this as wandering. If you have a SS, it's stated that it's normal in SLP owners book.
