Default Help With Performance Brakes

I was hoping you guys could get me up to speed on these F body brakes?

I have an 02 with 30K and have never touched the brakes, in fact I checked them the other day, and I am only@ 50%. I just did the Strano thing (sway-bars/springs and Koni's). And I love it! So I was thinking about brakes. I like this Z06/CTS-V swap. But I am not ready yet, as I just bought new tires and I am not ready for 18's. I was thinking about pads and lines for now? I think that I heard somewhere that the stock rotors were junk? I am all ears...

A good set of pads (Hawk), braided brake hoses (Techna-Fit), and a quality brake fluid (ATE Blue) will make a nice upgrade in stopping performance over stock.

Thanks. I have been looking at the Hawk's. But what ones, HP Plus, HPS, DTC-30 or ceramic? Techna-Fit over Russell?

IMO - The stock rotors were junk. In daily driving, they warped on me like a piece of wet spaghetti.

FYI - If you change them in the rear, you'll want to be sure to adjust the parking brake while you are at it. These cars have an uncommon mechanism that needs to be adjusted to the inner bore of the rotors and it needs to be done with the rotors off the car.

I went with Brakemotive (sponsor on here) slotted/drilled rotors front and back and they seem to be great so far. Way more stopping power than the stock rotors.

Yeah, I just looked at them. What a deal! $171.00 for all 4 rotors and pads. It almost looks to good to be true? How long and how many miles have you had yours?
