Question - you did install the lower shock mount "doughnut" that was laying to the right of the shock, right? It doesn't look like it in this picture.

Yes I did. This pic is me forgetting it and compressing the spring again to put it on.

Do you think you'll put on the BMR springs? I'm interested in purchasing your stock springs if you do.

I'm still very unhappy with the ride. I attribute a lot of that the the Kumho Ecsta tires that were installed in September of 06. There is little cracks everywhere on the tire, and I know they are hard as **** causing the ride to see harsh. I have new Michelin Pilot Super Sports in the garage and am waiting for my C6 Spyder wheels to be delivered. I'll post back as soon as I can get those mounted (in a couple days).

I can't help but feel that that bottom strut mount is causing some torsion effect, further stiffening the ride. I had to really work to get them to line up to the holes on the lower a-arm. I called BMR and they said that the tab through the strut with rotate, but Idk...

Update

I just installed c6 spyders with Michelin Pilot Super Sports (Appearance thread coming later).

A few notes:

-Tramlining is GONE. I don't feel the car/road pulling me all over the place anymore.

-The ride is super smooth, like glass, on smooth roads while also super quiet.

-Small bumps, mostly seams in the highway are still very harsh to me. I honestly think something is up with my suspension. When I hit a series of bumps, the car bounces all over the road and is not stable at all.

When I got home today, I measured from the ground to the bottom of each fender. Refresher of my setup

-Stock springs
-Koni 4/4's
-Lower perch up front
-heater hose mod out back
-18x9.5 wheels all around
-275/35 tires up front
-285/35 tires out back

Measurements:
Front Left - 27.75"
Front Right - 27"
Rears - 27.5"

Seems kind high eh?

That does seem really high given that you're on the lower perch. I have Stranos on my Bilsteins on my V6 car, which naturally is going to make the front end sit a little higher than on a LS1 car, yet you're sitting at a similar front height as me despite even being on the lower perch.

That doesn't seem right to me at all... Well, one explanation could be tire height, if you got taller tires than stock. What size tires did you get?

My measurements for comparison's sake -

Front left - 27.5"
Front right - 27"
Rear left - 27"
Rear right - 26.5"

My tires size is listed one post above. They're within a 1/3" or so of the stock tires.

Something just doesn't seem right...

The tire place put 44lbs of pressure in the tires. I dropped it down to 36, and it feels a little softer, but still pretty jarring on seams and bumps.

(Yes, I'm aware it's not a Cadillac.)

put 30-32 lbs in it and get some lowering springs on there and then let us know how it rides.

This is actually my next step. It's sort of backwards logic to put lowering springs and expect a better ride, but I've read tons of reviews where folks are happy with the ride on BMR springs. It helps that I have a set on the shelf that came free with the Koni's as well.

I just installed mine this past weekend. Koni 4/3, stock springs, lower perch, stock isolators in the rear. The ride is a little jarring, but I haven't gotten it aligned yet. Also, the tires on it are old and probably hard. It's a little more harsh than my CobaltSS.

But like you said, seams are rough right now.

Man, I don't know what's going on. Can anyone with BMR springs chime in and share your thoughts on ride quality? (bumps and seams?)

Bumps and seams don't feel very good when you nail them on a highway. My daily handles those better. I don't think I could put any suspension piece in to make nailing a bump on the highway feel much better in my camaro. My solution is to dodge them.

Do you have stock LCAs or aftermarket?

All stock. My next order of business is the swap in the BMR springs and change out all the stock bushings to new Moog pieces.

When I was swapping my tires I checked out the front lower a-arm bushings and they were cracked and hard like a rock. I couldn't even push a fingernail into them.

As long as you realize you may just not like the feeling in general that this car feels like over rough bumps. I always say my setup feels great. Rides very well over most roads... but not over really rough bumps in the road. I don't really include that category in when I talk ride quality.

Maybe different springs will help it. But it's possible that it won't. It's possible it could make it worse. One thing is for sure, it's going to handle awesome for a street/performance cruiser.

The only thing that changed was the addition of Koni's and my ride quality just seemed to go to ****. I don't remember subconsciously bracing myself for impact when i had the decarbons.

I'm also beginning to get concerns about my y-pipe to ground clearance once I swap in the BMR springs.....it never ends...
