when figuring angles you need all 3 to give the 2 operating angles, can you give me these 3 angles done at the same time please. also any chance you have the other shaft that i can check to see if the balance is correct on.

so when I measure that angle, i shouldn't be measuring it on the output shaft of the transmission? I have to check on the actual yoke of the driveshaft?

im getting my measurement right here.

1. Engine and trans
2. Drive shaft (if you dont have one run a string from center of the trans to center of the diff
3. Rear Diff.

its not the angle of the separate parts, its the difference between them we want to be concerned with.

look at the picture, you have 10 down on the trans and 13 on the shaft, thats only 3 degrees of movement when the shaft goes from one angle to the other.

Transmission angle on tail shaft... -2.9

Angle on driveshaft in the middle... 1.05

Rear angle on yoke... -2.2
On torque arm mount of rear -2.9

Ok so I talked to umi and changed my angles

Angle from under the torque arm rear:.85 (up towards trans)

Approx driveshaft angle: going UP towards the rear 1.7

Trans angle under housing: -2.7 (pointing down to rear)

Driving soon

This is a great thread. I'm hoping I can tune my car with the cross-member relo and full-length adjustable torque arm...

If your trans is sitting at -3.1 then your rear end should be set at +1 or so.

You can measure the trans angle by putting your angle finder on the front of the cylinder head or balancer.

How do you adjust the pinion angle? I had a pinion seal put in my car and ever since then its had a vibration at around 80 like everyone else is saying.

changing the seal would not change the angle, try indexing the shaft on the pinion yoke 180 degrees 1st.
