Default Upper A Arm issue

Here is the deal, I bought a used 98 Z28 for my kid as a small project car. Driving it home from the sale I noticed a lot of sway and harsh hits on the suspension. I have replaced all the tires, rear shocks, bump stops, and getting ready to put new struts on the front. The problem is when I pulled everything apart I noticed the passenger side sway bar wasn't even attached. That pretty much pissed me off. So I bought a poly front sway bar repair kit from autozone and tore the strut assembly out. The top of the Upper A Army is rusted out.

Does anyone have a used set of Upper A arms for a 98 Camaro they will sell super cheap. Only thing I have for possible trade is some dynomax mufflers used and a brand new X-pipe. I'd rather hang on to them though.

Email me at my_01_camaro@yahoo.com or text me at 816-853-4313 if you can make me a deal. Thanks. really trying to get this car safe for my kid so she can start driving it with her learner's permit.

i think it's simply safer to go a with a after market kit.
think of it as safety+upgrade=Safer & its new and you won't have any doubt's.

Looks like you need the mount for the upper control arm. I looked it up you can't get just the mount you have to buy new upper control arm etc. Price is crazy $220! Maybe some one has some extra ones laying around. Here link to where I found them you need #3 but they only sell it now as a kit which is #8.

I'm not too much worried about upgrading the peices based on cost. It depends on how much I can get the used stock ones for compared to the aftermarket. It's my kid's first car so I don't want to go overboard on the spending. Just safety and maintenance, not performance.

Thing is, ALL the aftermarket arms need that middle piece which is rusted on yours, so going aftermarket won't help you in the slightest.

Some aftermarket company needs to start making those center pieces.

hey i talked to a guy selling them on ebay and he said that he would combine the shipping for a total of $56.25. that is a pretty good price. PM me if you are interested, it might take a week or so to get to you though.

Here is the latest update. I got lucky with a local junkyard. They had a wrecked 99 Z28. I was up to take the entire front struts and upper control arms for both sides, gauge cluster with white face gauges, swap out t-tops for a set with a key, and get a steering wheel cover for less then $200 yesterday.

I took apart the strut for the old and the new to find out more bushing were shot on the old car. In the process of swapping out the newer springs with new struts and upper control upper control arms with mounting brackets. Decided to go ahead and replace upper ball joints since I'm already in there with the car apart. We'll see how well she rides after this.

Bottom line, I currently have the parts I need. But haven't taken apart the driver's side strut yet. More to follow.

After combining the upper A arms and bushing from the 99 Z28 and my 98 Z28, adding front springs and KYB Excell-G shocks and struts with a poly sway bar repair kit the car is riding and handling awesome. Thanks to those who gave input.
