Default Thoughts on Bilsteins?

So I've heard good things about Bilsteins. Anyway, I picked up a set for my 02 SS. I haven't had chance to get them put in yet. If you guy's have a set what are your thoughts on them? I'm not really looking to do any road racing, just want a bit better handling.

Thanks in advance!

I have the revalves from Strano since 2008, no complaints. I don't race or DD the car, just wanted a firmer ride like you so I opted not to get the Koni's.

I went with Koni Sport SAs on my SS, and Bilsteins on my RS...

Definitely the right choices for me -- Bilsteins are improvements over the stockers, but you get much more out of the Konis with adjustability which is really nice.

That pretty much sounds like what I was thinking.

Sounds fair, just can't wait to get them on!

Bilsteins are great with stock springs. Put them on my dad's 02 Z28 and the ride is great over the stock decarbons.

I also run revalved Bilsteins. Have been for about 6 or 7 years now and no problems. Would like to make the switch to Konis at some point in the future however. I also have Strano springs and sway bars.

Is there a difference between the SLP Bilsteins and the Bilstein HD's?

Supposedly nowadays, no.

The HD's have a lifetime warranty, the SLP's a 1 year. The SLP's are cheaper though. I just ordered some through coloradospeed for $400 shipped.

The Bilsteins are a nice upgrade from the stock Decarbons and mate well with stock springs. I went with the Bilsteins all around and have been very pleased with them both on the street and on the track. While I still view them as the 2nd best option, behind the Konis, they are a nice cost-friendly alternative if you're on a budget.

If you're using aftermarket lowering springs, you might find the adjustibility of the Konis to be a nice feature.

I just put on some Bilstein HD's paired with BMR springs and I have no complaints. Large improvement over the Eibach Sportline/stock shocks that were on the car when I bought it last year! The ride is nowhere near as jarring as it was, and it handles nicely. Perfect daily driver combo IMHO, especially for the price.

I've put about 20 miles on my front Bilsteins, just got the rears on yesterday but didn't drive it yet.

I am running cut stock springs. The Bilsteins have kept a firm ride, but it's not nearly as harsh or jarring. It's firm, but it's smooth. So far, I am VERY happy with the ride quality. Can't wait to really get it out of the garage and put it through it's paces to get a good opinion of them.
