Default Trans Am disc brake rear vs other options...

Ok so this is a good one IMHO. I have a chance to pick up an OE 80 Trans Am disc brake rear, sans differential, for $75. Same thing as the regular Chevy 8.5 10 bolt that I have in my 77 camaro now, just with the disc setup. (so I'm told) Ok so anyway I am going to do a drum to disc conversion anyway, would this be a good option, or should I consider some other fun options? I've heard of guys fabbing in C5 brakes, but mind you there is a budget for stopping power! The other easy way out would probably be the late 90's early 00's S10/Blazer discs that so many F body owners have done...

Mind you I would hope to do some sort of 4 piston caliper with a larger rotor in the future. For now though I'm just wondering if this would be a good idea. Oh also I am committed to the whole solid axle thing, mostly because my fab skill are definitely not up to par to put in some sort of Corvette rear quite yet...
