Default help me order SL6R rotors and pads

i have sl6r kit on my 98ss. rotors and pads need to be replaced however i cant find the suitable rotors & pads, tried getting in touch with the wilwood customer service but they have only sent me the link to SL6R brake kits on their website!!!
fyi, current rotors are drilled and slotted with lots of cracks on them (had contacted wilwood back in the days but they blamed the bedding, dont think i can make same mistake twice as both sets i have used have lots of cracks on them - anyway too late to moan i assume as lost the stock calipers) thus am looking to get some plain rotors and pads for street use. can anyone please help as to what diameter etc i should order and from where?

Jegs, Summit, and shops like TCE all have Wilwood parts in stock.

Wilwood lists the part number for each component of their kits on their site.

http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Bra...isc+Brake+Rear.

Btw, did you run the rear setup on the stock 10-bolt?

Just curious as I was looking at those kits.

I would look at different pads and slotted rotors. I don't know who else makes pads for Wilwood kits. I've heard the BP10 and BP20 aren't bad pads tho. Might be worth a call to Todd @ TCE and talk to him as he does a lot of custom Wilwood kits. See what pad options and rotor options you might have.

But if you swap out to a C5 setup, run the LG brakets (no cutting!), stock F-body calipers and abutment brackets (more clamping that C5 PBR calipers), and Racing Brake C5 slotted rotors with the J&M C5 lines for F-body. That would be a nice setup and one I've toyed with running...

Unhappy

took me some time figure it out but i guess my rotors are 12.19 up front and most likely the same at the back.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wi...s/?prefilter=1

my question is, i will order above for front but do i need a new set of hats or i can just remove the existing hats and use them again? dont wanna pay for the hats again.
also, what kind of pads should i order as i have no idea as to which one will fit on the sl6r kit, all i need a street usable with no noise and dust. current ones are very very noisy. PLS HELP!! sent Jegs performance a message but they havent come back to me, sent Wilwood a message and they said "those are the kits that will fit 98 camaro" and sent me the brake ktis rather than answering my question..wish i had never replaced the oem brakes or gone with corvete C5 cpnversion as it would be a lot easier to find parts and at least get some help......

also what rear rotors and pads should i order?

Buy a blank rotor , a plain one. Reuse your hats, thats why they are made the way they are.

Buy Ceramic pads, no dust.

Go buy high temp copper anti seize and put it on the back of the pad an on the ends wherever it touches, no more squeak.

Call Hawk brakes or Carbotech brakes and ask them about ceramic street pads for that setup.

car has been sitting in the garage over a year as i didnt have time to order anything for her, yet!
i am going to place an order as below

front rotors
front hats
rear rotors (one piece)

questions

a) i am assuming my rotors are 12.19 in diamater, can i go larger diameter? can caliper be adjusted to fit larger rotors?

b) not quite sure about the bolt circle. what exactly does it mean? is mine 7.78

any help will be appreciated

p.s: looking at the veeeery old order confirmation, i have this on the invoice

"12.19 X 1.00 W/8 ON 7.78 LEFT HAND, 12.19" X 1.00" WITH .251" HOLES 8 ON 7.78" DV32-1300-150"
makes any sense?

DV32-1300-150<<<<<<<<<Not a Wilwood part number, looks like a Coleman racing part number.

Why buy new hats? Something wrong with yours?

Take your rotors off and measure them, very doubtful they are the same front and rear.

Hats should have a part number on them, as will the rotors.

If you have the "wide caliper" like me it takes the pad shape 7420, if its the narrow caliper its a 7416 shape. It will be stamped in the back of the pad. LOTS of brake pad companies make pads in these shapes.

Most likely NOT a 12.19 rotor, either a 12.88 or 13.06 on front if its under 17 inch wheels. If its a Coleman rotor who knows. 12.19 on rear maybe.

Please pull a wheel and post some pictures.

correct it is coleman racing rotors - http://www.colemanracing.com/Brake-R...-32-P4247.aspx - are they any good?

well apparently my front drilled (as well as rear) rotors are cracked all over but maybe plain ones better..
these coleman rotors are available in different diamaters, if i grab the 13" rotors and if current rotors turn out to be 12.19 - can i fit the slightly larger rotors or they will not fit?

i found the rear rotors from old confrimation emails - http://www.wilwood.com/Rotors/RotorP...emno=160-10049

so now time to spend some time for the front rotors
reason i want to buy hats as well is they have been on the car for about 5 6 yers now and i dont want to snap the bolts while trying to take them off

Call Wilwood and see if either rotor will fit on your caliper brackets. You may have to shim the caliper up or down.

Pull the rotor and measure it.

Call Coleman Racing and have some slotted or blank ones made(more life, less cracking) for $130 each.

Keep the rotor hats, they are fine. If you need to, take a small propane torch and put some heat on the bolts.

Put on Wilwood BP10 pads and roll.

Thats a 13.06 I bet, the 12.88 is the slotted race rotor.

i have already asked them few days ago and got below

The overall diameter of your rotor or a part number off of the rotor will be needed to confirm a replacement part number.

Regards,
Wilwood Disc Brakes
I am about 1500 miles away from the car these days and wanted to order all the parts before hand as they will be sent to Istanbul, Turkey.
looks like i have to go and measure it before placing an order.

I am planning to order one set of brake pads for the street use and another set for the track. BP10 - is it something for both ocacasions??

BP10 is a street pad, I would call WIlwood to see if you can track them. I wouldn't.

You have Wilwood 140-7190 right? I am looking at that one and the narrows. Looks like you can run the fatter 7420 .800 inch pad with the wide caliper and I saw you like that one for its reduced cost of running. Think the 140-7190 would fit under OEM 17 x 9 2002 T/A WS6 Speedlines?

OK Torlak, I did some research for me, that may help you.

The 13.06 rotor will work in the place of the 12.88 rotor, you have to shim the caliper up in the front.

If you want the plain 12.88 rotor here are the part numbers

160-12784 and 160-12785

If you want the slotted 13.06 rotor, here are the part numbers.

160-8165 and 160-8166

If you want the plain 13.06 rotor, here are the part numbers

160-12786 and 160-12787
