I know people do c6z06 big brakes on fbodies, however could you fit a c6 z06 caliper behind a 17x9 thin spoke ws6 wheel in a 12.8 rotor? I'm curious because a guy has c6 z06 calipers for sale and figured I'd pick up them and get some brackets for them and put them on a 12.8 c5 rotor. Would that work before I **** of some money?
Edit: another question. 13.4 inch rotors will fit in 17" wheel correct? And if the c6 z06 calipers won't fit, do the base c6 calipers bolt up to the ls1 fbody caliper bracket? Some sites say they bolt up and some places say I need a different bracket.

Speaking from personal experience with CTSV 4 piston brembos, which I am almost positive are smaller than C6Z brakes; trying to fit big calipers under 17s is a nightmare. I now have 18s with CTSV brembos and a spare ground to **** CTSV brembo that is a paper weight. I had to grind it down so far that the threads for the bolts that hold the two halves of the caliper together started showing through and it still didnt fit under a 17" wheel. But there are others who've had better experiences than me fitting them under 17s, I might have just had a **** storm of unfriendly wheels (I tried to fit them under a couple different sets of 17s) so see what others say before you make your decision. My input is get 18s lol.

So this leads to my next questions 13.4 inch rotors and base c6 calipers will fit then right? I'm not looking for all put brembo brakes, just a nice upgrade from these shitty 11.8 rotors that are notorious for warping and the weak calipers they have.
Will the base c6 caliper bolt up to the ls1 f body caliper bracket with a 13.4 rotor? Some people say yes and some say no, so I'm trying to get a right answer here.

I've read that c5 and c6 calipers are interchangeable. Just wondering if I need a special bracket to fit them on my fbody. I'd hate to buy everything and go do the brakes and find out they don't work until I get special brackets

the only difference between the C5 z06 and the base C6 calipers are the ribs on top of the C6 calipers are thicker/bigger to maintain integrity under heavy braking. The dimensions of the two are the same.
MedBlue, I've got a base c6 upgrade on my f-body...from what i understand, the base C6 caliper will bolt up to the f-body bracket. The problem is the stock bracket will not accommodate a 13.4 inch rotor...i'm running the stock vette rotor size (12.8 inches) and i was told to go with a vette bracket. I needed better heat dissipation and the C6 upgrade is doing the job.
