Question about relocating ABS unit.
Question about relocating ABS unit. Hey guys,
I'm getting ready to reinstall my ABS unit but I remembered it doesn't fit in the factory location because the turbo plumbing is there. So I'm going to have to relocate the ABS unit and install new brake lines.
I want to make sure I install it and not have any issues with air bubbles or any crap like that. I'm thinking of putting it in the trunk on the driver side along the frame rail.
My question is, Does the ABS unit need to be installed at a certain height compared to the master cylinder and calipers? Can it be laid on its side or will it only work vertical?

i thinking about relocating mine as well and had the same questions. was also wondering if i could use braided lines from the master to the abs block or do i have to fab up some new hard lines?
A buddy of mine said it doesn't matter. What does matter is the wiring. He said the abs module takes a lot of juice and to make sure the gauge you're using is sufficient enough to carry the power.
As for the plumbing I think it's better and cheaper to use the hard line. Ill be using the hard line and just buying the bender.
