Default SLP Subframe Connector

Anyone install the SLP 3-point subframe connector? Any insight on install and experience? I'm looking to stiffen up the frame and am looking at picking a set up and wanted to see if anyone has a review before I pull the trigger. TIA.

Put my set on about 2002,easy and simple. Also provided good points for jackstands for when I swap rearends. Did not notice any difference in flexing or handling after installation. Would I do it again,YES.

Are they easy enough to install in the garage?

I remember having to enlarge/elongate a few holes when I installed mine many years ago...other than that, straightforward install. If you are going to do it on jack stands in the garage, bring a buddy to help hold them in place...they aren't the lightest things in the world.

Also don't tighten the bolts with the car on jack stands, put them on loosely and tighten them with it on the ground (assuming bolt on ones). I did the install with jack stands in the garage.

1) you don't have to weld them in
2) you still can weld them in if you want to

I had them on my 99 Formula and noticed a difference in the chassis flex. I'm saving my pennies to buy some to put on my 01 SS. As others have stated, well worth the cost from the stiffness to providing a better jacking spot. Easy to do in a garage by yourself.

I tried putting on today and struggled. I loosely put on the middle two bolts and then could not get the rear bolt thru the frame and lca. It was just off by a mm or two. I felt that one of the holes in the chassis that are all over the place with rolled lip was preventing the sfc from coming up to the hole I needed to line up.

Any recommendations on what I could use to shave the rolled lip down a couple mm.
A Dremel? What type of bit?

Any other recommendations?

Btw my car only has 11k miles so I don't think it has enough body flex or anything like that. Also I had the car up on four ramps so everything should have been pretty level.

I didn't realize how much clearance I will loose with these things.

Thanks

Any "bolt-on" connector will flex and move at the connecting point before it does the chassis any amount of good.

First the stiffening device has to be welded on to actually make it part of the car.

Second you need to actually connect the true subframes of the car and not the outside of the LCA box and the floor crossbrace like many of the "connectors" sold here do. They may be connecting things, but it certainly is not the subframes.

Give us a call we have the right stuff!

Did you load the rear end to remove the bolt holding the LCA? I bought the SLP bolt on and it went in pretty easy. Only issue I had was lining up the connector point on the passenger side to the tunnel brace. Had to take it to a shop up on a lift and use an impact gun to secure it.
