IMO get the drilled, slotted, and black rotors. They look great and work well.

Some people have issues with the rotor cracking but thats a risk I am willing to take.

No issues with mine and they stop great. Not ZR1 great but pretty damn good for a stock 15 year old system.

IMO change your brake fluid when you do your brakes.

While I got the drilled/slotted, I'd stick with just the slotted. To be honest, I ordered just the slotted but received drilled/slotted. They're so cheap that I wasn't going to complain to send them back.

I'd go blanks. Slotted make a weird noise when braking and drilled crack. Both have less surface area for brake pad friction...

Seriously, the Strano package of the Best Brake rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and Techna-Fit stainless lines is tough to beat. $490 tho.

I agree with everything Jake said. The slotted and drilled look good, but do nothing for a street car.

I will be going with the Strano package this spring it is the best deal I have found.

The Brakemotive deal is cheaper, but the rotors are heavier.

I just looked... you can get the Techna-Fit lines, Best Brakes rotors shipped for 299 from Best Brakes themselves. Might be a better option. Then WS6Store has the HPS pads for 139.99 shipped.

Makes it a little better.

I will probably go with either just slotted or blanks most likely.

As for the other options you guys are talking about, I'm sure they are no doubt awesome, but I can not afford them right now. I am just going to go with the brakemotive package. I can't beat the price.

Like I said there is nothing wrong with Brakemotive's package. I live in Eastern Ohio on a hill overlooking the Ohio river. There are hills everywhere and rotors take a beating. So I am hoping that the Bestbrake ones will last longer.

But unless I try both I will never know for sure if the added expense is worth it. You pay your money and take your shot.

I wish I could get one of the better package lol I don't really have many hills and what not so I should be fine. Good luck with your new ones!

Just remember to change your brake fluid and you should be good to go. (or is that stop)

If it makes you feel any better, I planned on the Strano package, but I needed brakes for inspection (that is, sooner than I anticipated), so I went with Brakemotive solely due to price. I've no regrets (then again, I've put only 4000 miles on the car since then).

Actually, that's a lot of bang for the buck, there. A good rotor for anything except road racing is a solid surface, stock replacement rotor. In fact, unless your current rotors are really chewed up, you might be able to resurface them for a few bux.

Avoid dimples and holes, they're just for bling. They provide no functional improvement. Some people say they decrease effectiveness because they decrease rotor surface area. I'm not sure about that, though. Holes will will create stress risers, and propogate cracks. You'll be replacing them fairly soon. Dimples and holes also create more noise and you can feel the pedal vibrate a little bit. Not enough to be bothersome, just noticeable.

Stay away from slots too, unless you're road racing. They do have a functional purpose, but keep them on the race track.

Choosing the right brake pads is where you'll see the best improvement in performance. I like Performance Friction carbon metallic. I think O'Reilly stocks them as a house brand. Or you can buy them directly from Performance Friction. I've used them on a number of cars and light trucks with excellent results.

A very important key here is to bed the pads in exactly as the manufacturer instructs you to. Exactly. Don't skimp on this step. If you don't do this, you'll never get the full potential and you'll be disappointed. When people complain about how their new brakes suck, it's usually because they didn't bed them in correctly.

Their eBay store gives you a better price. Just order through there - that's what I did on my Nissan.

Brakemotive for the brakes, and run some Bilsteins (from coloradospeed).

This is true. Ive been driving drilled and slotted brakemotives for a while now on my DD, and i have no cracks, noises, or other issues with them. However i wouldnt be surprised if they did start cracking. The only downside to them is their weight. I never got the chance to get them on a scale, but they are noticeably heavier on all 4 corners.

I looked a the eline series on r1 concepts are these any good?

Before you give up on Brakemotive try posting in this thread. That is how most people order them.
